Never a dull moment

Alan and I felt the need do something fun and exciting to celebrate Memorial Day along with me being 37 weeks pregnant this week. So here's what we decided to do...

Alan: spent all of Memorial day sick as a dog and in the late afternoon, he and I spent 3+ hours at urgent care while he received three IV bags of fluid to him feel more alive again. It helped immensely, but he still felt like he'd been run over by a big rig truck. He was also given some anti-nausea medicine that seemed to help a bit. He spent all of Tuesday feeling pretty much dead to the world except of course for his super achy body which reminded him that he was not dead and today he finally began to feel alive. He's heading back to work tomorrow and I'm hoping he does okay. Just in case he needs to come home early, he'll be driving his car into work rather than taking the bus like he normally does...which is why he just left to run his car through a car wash since it hasn't been scrubbed clean in um for.ev.er. He doesn't want to run into any co-workers with his car covered in one inch thick dirt and bird do. :)

Me: Thankfully, like I said, today was Alan's recovery day at home which allowed me the chance to get to the dentist to have a ridiculously hurty wisdom tooth checked out. It's been hurting off and on for a few months, but on Sunday, it hurt like none other. Monday wasn't too bad, but yesterday and especially last night, it killed again. I was up every hour last night (more than I already am!) with my jaw throbbing in pain...and for the record, orajel does absolutely nothing to numb wisdom tooth pain! Anyway, my dentist referred me for a consultation with an oral surgeon this afternoon and I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to get the tooth out until tomorrow, Friday or (way WAY worse) Monday. But--the wonderful, wonderful dentist (doctor? surgeon?) took my tooth out this afternoon since it was so straight forward! I still have gauze in my mouth and the numbness is wearing off which probably means I'll be hurting pretty soon, but, I'm stoked to have the tooth gone!

Nothing like a little excitement to add to our already crazy busy lives!

Hope your week is going better than ours has!
