So, my bedroom is quite small and overrun with way too much of my crafty stuff along with other "stuff". Today I had planned to do some major clean up, consolidation and packing away of things that I really don't need right now. The boys were down for their nap, I finished a slice of home made, super fantastically tasty bread (YUM!) and as I headed off to my room, I told my mother that I was off to clean and would not be coming back any sooner than a half hour (there is no way it would have been cleaned in that amount of time mind you...). WELL, my great intention was sidetracked when I walked into the room, straight to the corner I would begin in. Looking down, I saw a long, brown and black scaly looking tale and all plans and thoughts fled my head as I did my room!!! I wasn't sure if it was a snake or lizard, but whatever it was, was NOT welcome!!!! My dad was home for lunch so I have course seeked help from him and he discovered that it was thankfully not a snake, just a huge GIGANTIC lizard!!! If I were exaggerating, I would say it was 12 inches long, but in all seriousness and NOT exaggerating, the thing is probably 9 inches long! And unfortunately, it is still "roaming" free in my room! I called Alan and asked him to come home and capture the thing (yes, yes, I'm a super wimp!) Sadly, the thing hid under our dresser and is now hiding from us!! Our dresser drawers are pulled out and stacked on our bed, furniture has been moved and a "trap" (a very wimpy trap--a lego box and some cardboard) has been constructed. I am SO NOT looking forward to bedtime. That thing better be gone!!!! Once I have an update...I'll let you know...
UPDATE: So the lizard has run off into a crevice of the wall (reminder: I live in the converted gargage of a 25 year old house...there are spaces in the wall that NEED TO BE TAKEN CARE OF!!!!) and I will shortly be heading to home depot to buy some expanding foam to fill that crevice. I {sadly-ha!} didn't get a picture of the Southern ALLIGATOR LIZARD--how's that for a name!! but found some on the internet...Alan said these looked pretty much just like the one in our room. And I read on Wikipedia that they can grow to 50 cm long!! That's about 19 1/2 inches long!!!!!!! Maybe I would be right in saying that it IS 12 inches long! EWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!

Thats hilarious!!!That sounds like a eventful day!
To make matters worse, I dreamed that mice were climbing up my back last night!!! I woke up quickly and tried to erase all disturbing thoughts from my brain!
Oh my goodness!! They are huge! Very disturbing indeed. Good luck with your unwanted pet.
I am glad you are playing "Pay It Forward" I think it is a fun idea. I got it from my creative friend Maree :D
Alan, Dev, Brandon and I used to catch those things all the time in Westwood... Tell Alan to catch it already.
