We spent the first Saturday of the New Year in Pasadena with some of my siblings and their families--eating yummy Mexican food and then enjoying a close up view of the Rose Parade floats. Jay and my sister-in-law, Colleen, are here in the states for about 6 weeks from Korea, so we were able to visit with them and my cute little nephew, Max. Jay is a doctor in the army and stationed in Seoul.
We started out eating tasty food (thanks Jay and Colleen!) and I discovered that Ethan and David LOVE salsa. My gosh though, they were so wiggly piggly at the table, I was about to go bonkers! Two very active 2-year olds at a sit down restaurant is a little hard. :)
John and his family gave Max an awesome Wild Animal Park Trainer outfit. So cute.
After a group photo we headed over to the Rose Parade Floats and got to see the awesome workmanship up close. They are truly amazing! If you ever get the chance to check them out, definitely go, you won't be disappointed. Just be prepared for the crazy crowds--there were a ton of people there. Funny thing was, we were given a flier at the entrance and on it, there was a warning about losing people from your group and to make sure you had cell phones and what not and I totally laughed at it, thinking -- "Who would get lost and not have their cell phone?" Oh. Guess what. That was ME. Thankfully it wasn't for long, but it certainly made me feel silly for scoffing at the warning:)

I'm impressed and once again our lives are perfect mirror images. Andy and Ashlyn are not allowed the privledge of going to a sit down restaurant in an attempt to remain partially sane as a mom of twins =)
looks like fun! thanks for the pics since we missed it. looks like Steve did too?
That looks like SO MUCH fun!!! Oh how I wished I lived by you guys :(
How fun! I'm sure it was fascinating.
That is so awesome! I want to go someday!
oh - real mexican food - i miss you! 2 year old in a sit down restaurant not so much -- so sorry girly - this too shall pass - i speak from experience - although we do still have the occasional trouble with the 4-5 year olds running around the restaurant - so embarrassing - it is even more embarrassing when it happen in sacrament meeting.
