Now I just have to find a pattern, buy more fabric to complement the squares as well as fabric for the back, buy batting for the middle and oh, just a little thing....learn to sew. :) I know the basics, but this is definitely the biggest project I have taken on. Wish me luck! Hopefully soon I will be able to show you the finished product.

One goal for the upcoming year....
Back when I was in school at Ricks College (forever ago), I was in a class that I had to make a list of 50 things I wanted to do before I died. One of those things I plan to do and WILL do is to make a quilt. I am now one step closer and am so looking forward to starting it. I bought the fabric squares last week...

Good for you! It feels so good when you can finally accomplish something you've wanted to do for a long time. Good luck!!!
I'm so proud of you Katie! But once you start quilting- beware! It's very addicting. I have a basket full of quilting squares that I have yet to quilt. I just love buying them when I see them. (If you want help, call me!)
um, ya, me too! but you're about 20 squares ahead of me. Those quilts I was going to make the boys for Christmas, ya right. I cut about 6 squares and decided it was much to much to get done in a short amount of time. that is a big project for a working mom - so I'm definitely taking the pressure off myself. I like your goal: get it done this year (not in 2 weeks!). I'm with you! you can bring it over on craft night if you want! fun fun!
good luck. should be lots of fun.
How fun!! I actually love quilting, but don't do it often 'cuz it is expensive and time consuming. But also very fulfilling! I love the colors you picked. I quilted one for our bed that was super easy, called a crazy quilt (no idea who created the pattern). Also, Buggy Barn patterns are super easy for beginners cuz nothing needs to be exact (which is good for those who can't sew straight, like me). Anyway, good luck and have fun!
I enjoy your blog and I'm so impressed about the quilt. Way to go!!
