So, I've been a bit of a blog slacker lately. It takes so long to write and upload sometimes that I end up just not doing it. Procrastination and perfection at it's best:)
Anyway, I thought I would give a few updates...
Alan got a job!!! He accepted a position with Sempra Energy in downtown San Diego starting in June of next year. He is very happy and excited--especially because it is the company he was most hoping to work for. They have the most "normal" work hours for an accountant. Public accounting companies have crazy hours for the first 4 months or so of the year and he wasn't looking forward to missing out on seeing his family during that time. Needless to say, I wasn't so excited about it either. We are also excited to be staying in SD, but not so excited about the ridiculous cost of living. Seriously, it is just not right (or fair!) that a 4000 sq. foot house in Texas costs just $220,000 and the only thing we could get for $220 here is (perhaps) an old studio apt barely big enough for a bed in the scariest parts of town. And even then, it would probably cost more than that. If Texas weren't so many billions of miles away (and sticky and humid and hot) we would be packing up today.
As for me, I'm busy being a momma along with working for about 10 hours a week for The Ken Blanchard Companies. I worked there for 3 years before the boys were born and loved it--they are such a fantastic company. I get to work from home and go into the office a couple times a month for short meetings. So great! I'm also busy being super crafty. This weekend is my ward's Super Saturday and I'm teaching one of the classes. I'll post pictures once it's all over with.
This is starting to sound like a Christmas letter....
We've taken the boys to the YMCA gym twice now and they LOVE it!!!! Their Uncle Scott works there and lets us come in to burn off some toddler energy. One of these days I'll upload my pictures and show you how great it is. There is a big foam pit that is awesomely fun. David and Ethan kick up their little heels and jump right in. They always take really good naps afterwards:)
Oh, so I'm only about 6 months behind everyone else in Southern California, but I'm going to see Wicked next Tuesday and I am SOOOOOOO STINKIN EXCITED!!!!!! Can you feel the excitement?!?!?
Hmm, another random thought...I recently rediscovered the first CD from Jimmy Eat World and I'm loving it. However, I checked it out from the library and can't find it and I'm not loving that. It was due Monday. Grr. I lose things way too easily.
I think that's it for now. Hopefully by purging my thoughts I'll be able to sleep well tonight in the event that I'm awakened at 4:35 am by David screaming out in his sleep for no good reason as I was last night. I layed in bed trying to fall back asleep for 50 minutes before I called it a night and sleepily started my day. It is so time for bed.....
Bye!

Congratulations. We lived in San Diego from 1998-2004 and LOVED IT. We started out in a condo and then moved up to a house in a few years. The market is actually pretty good for buyers right now. I have a great agent if you need one.
Good luck.

Hooray for Alan(and all of you)!! Love that cousin. I'm glad he was able to get the job he was hoping for. Yes, housing prices down there are ridiculous! If they weren't I would have been down there years ago. I've only met you a couple times, and both times were before you and Alan were married. Once at Grandma Sabins house and the other at Alan's parents house. I love reading your blog. You are awesome--I love seeing updates on your cute boys. Love all your crafty stuff too.
Yay Alan!!! I'm so excited for you guys. Isn't it great that you just bit the bullet and did it, and now he'll be done! What an accomplishment. I'm excited about his job too. Near family with family-friendly hours!
And I didn't know you were back at Blanchard a bit. Do you ever see Becca? She loves it there.
And have a FABULOUS time at Wicked--you will love it!
I'm sending good vibes your way to find something perfect to live in! good vibes-good vibes!!! Congratulations and good luck!
