The Baker Family

I think this picture was taken in 1989, a few months before my oldest brother, Jay, was leaving for his mission to Brazil. (Am I right, Jay?) I love this picture for lots of reasons...first and foremost because we are all quite dashing of course!

My brother John on the far left--love his bleached blonde hair and hands in his pockets.

Next one over, Mike,--I love that he and I are the same height and have the same color hair. I always wished we were twins and there were a few months of same height-ness that I acted like we were. Also, how can you not love that sweater?

Me--check out those bangs and the wispy hair. Awesome. Also, I remember that I was wearing "heels" and felt quite mature with them and my white tights. :)

Next, my little sister, Christy. She's wearing a Peanuts dress! Classic:) Her bangs look pretty sweet like mine too.

My youngest brother, Steve. This is his Bart Simpson look with the all over spiked up hair. Isn't he a cutie? (Actually, aren't they all cuties?)

My dad...I think this is how I will always remember him, looking dapper in his suit, wearing glasses, and his brown hair...he's going a little gray these days...

My mom...her hair is a beautiful silvery shade these days, but for all my growing up years, she had red, sassy hair! I love that she and Jay are holding hands in this shot.

Jay. I remember thinking he was so grown up, I mean 19 years old to a 12 year old is mature and wise. Silly me, when I hit 19 I realized that is so not true! I still don't feel mature and wise and I'm 29...some day I guess. I love the 80's feathery hair cut on Jay:)

Matt. Very Miami Vice-ish. Well, maybe. I didn't really watch the show, so I'm going off this comparison from hazy commercial memories. I really, really love his 80's feathery, longer hair cut.

I love my family!

How beautiful we are, I surely love all of you! What a challenge it was to get all 9 of us ready for a family picture. Christy was meant to be wearing something a little more refined than her peanuts character dress, but she got into the car, and there she was....I'm so glad she did, what character it leant to the picture! Lots of good memories from that day!

I love this picture too. I know I'm a little biased, but this is the greatest picture of Mike EVER. He actually looks genuinely happy!!!! Very handsome family =)

What a fun family. I should post a picture of my 9 brothers and sisters. Thanks for the idea.

family photos are really great. my mom has a collage of about 10 family photos taken over the years and its fun to see how we'd change. and everyone has a different family photo. fun!

I'm thinking it looks just like a 80's polo ad. Man you and your bro's look like the perfect California beach babes! I think it's classic and perfect!

(Compared to my family photo's back then this is 500% better!)

See, now THIS is the Baker family that I remember! Though I have to admit I'm a little disappointed that the 15 passenger van didn't make the cut. That would have been awesome. How fun to get your comment and be able to come here and see your family!

I love a good family picture! Isn't it amazing how styles change? I am pretty sure I wore a dress just like yours back in the day!
