the Happiest Place...until it rains!

It's hard to believe now that we are in the middle of summer, but when Alan and I took the boys to Disneyland a couple months ago (5/22/08), we got rained out! We met up with some of Alan's family and enjoyed the cool weather, up until we got poured on in Toon Town! Before that happened, we took the boys on Pirates of the Caribbean, which in hindsight was not the best idea. Duh! I forgot how dark and loud that ride can be for a little one. Ethan did NOT like it and clung to me while crying off and on. I felt terrible! David did just fine surprisingly, I thought he would be the one who didn't like it. Anyway, we had a great time and wished that the rain would have held off a bit longer or stuck around only long enough to send the crowds home. I guess the crowds did go home, we just happened to be a part of that crowd! We had friends who went later in the day and they said it was fabulous! Bummer.

On the rockets AFTER Pirates. Take a look at Ethan, he is NOT thrilled about the idea of another ride...

Now he's happier...

Riding the train...

Sarah and Scott...

Totally sweet shot, all thanks to Ethan, he pulled on my camera strap while I was taking the picture, giving it the sweet swirly look:)

Taking refuge from the rain...

Soaking WET!!

Someone is not happy in the picture below, and I think we can tell by my cheesy grin that it's not me!

Pile 'o' gear! What it takes to get to and from Disneyland reasonably happy!

the 'swirly' shot is called panning (if I remember correctly from my photo classes way back when)- you focus on your subject and move the camera and hence the swirly background! good job - even if only an accident. I have cool shots of gymnasts and cars doing this teq.

Brynn hated all the indoor rides when she was little. Even the Lion King parade.
Loving your necklace.

We're only 20 min. from Disneyland so next time you're up this way, give us a holler! Really fun photos.

Hey we are planning to go to Sea World on Friday. Do you guys have passes? It would be fun to meet up and actually 'meet.' =) Tyler's parents are coming so we would have extra hands.
Also do you know of any discount offers? I saw this thing online and a lady claimed she got $10 tickets from a McDonalds in San Diego (maybe it was typo and she got $10 off). Either way I would interested. That place is expensive.

So fun! So good to see pics of your brother in law. Haven't seen him since Hawaii and he was cliff diving. That crazy kid.

I never realized Pirates was scary. I told my kids that the fake pirates were real people and we were going through an actual pirate town. Was that bad? lol. The ruse was going well until Conor starting screaming at the "pirates" to stop hurting the other pirates. I had to tell him it was all fake so he didn't freak out the other kids in the boat. But, when we get off I told him I lied and they were real. :P A little bit of an exaggeration there but not much.

I am so glad my kids love me anyway. They're great. I love having boys.
