Wow. I thought two WALKING toddlers was hard. But two CLIMBING (and still fearless) toddlers is at least 100 times worse. So, a question for all veteran parents out there--Is there anything you would care to warn me about so I can begin preparing myself?! These boys are going to obliterate every nerve in my being!!!

POTTY TRAINING!! One of my least favorite mom jobs. It's hard to keep up with one, I can't imagine trying to keep up with two at once.
Ditto to the potty training. I've decided I can't go through it again. Jack will figure it out by the time he's 12 right? Oh yeah, and then he can potty train the baby.
I'll have to agree, potty training is disgusting. Really! And I work in dirty bloody mouths all day long. I've had it up to HERE with toddler poop. Seriously, much worse than climbing. Just let them explore - they learn when they hurt themselves a bit...just rescue them when it's life threatening and take lots of pics. that is my motto at least. Oh ya, and don't jump and scream at every little fall - that makes them cry babies, ha ha. Good Luck girl!!!!
Oh so not looking forward to potty training! Ughhhh...
Try to see if you can borrow some toys that they can climb on like the step two toys..they can put their climbing skills to use without having to hear "no!" all the time. My kids constantly climbed on the kitchen table and I just had to keep pulling them off of it, now it's not so much a problem. I know its hard when they see each other doing it, just more motivation and incentive to climb as well, then they climb up and just laugh at each other right? My sister-in-law just let hers climb and if he fell he fell..good luck with it!
Potty training was a piece of cake for my boys, no problems no messes....my word of warning would be knives and sissors. Luckly we havn't had any bodily harm happen. A few hair's clipped, a few scrapbook pages slices, a few sewing projects cut up, but no stitches or eyes poked out! :)
Same advice as Robin, let them get a few boo-boos and learn, but in a safe way. They'll learn eventually. Chloe has been there for a while now, and it's definitely gettin better!
Yes - I think that is kind of our Motto too -
Jeb always says " It's a steep learning curve!" If they get hurt a couple of times they hopefully will learn not to do that anymore... Jeb I have to say is a little more ridged with this than I am - But it does make a little bit of sense - Anyway - Good luck!
Oh...the memories are floating back. The agony of the constant physical demand of never taking your eyes off of them. Hang in there. I know it doesn't feel like it, but it passes quickly.
I see that coming just around the corner for us. Chase has started trying to climb into his bouncy seat and occasionally falls over. I try not to react or intervene and usually he's just fine. I know he's going to be an exploring kid.
I feel for ya Katie. I'm still going through it with my almost two year old. I thought he would have caught on by now but he still thinks it's the coolest thing in the world to be on the tallest thing in the house. Warning: wait till they realize how fun it is to jump off of those surfaces.
Oh man. I need to come read your blog whenever I start to panic about my one little crazy kid. Are we ever going to have a playdate? I think Parker would love playing with David and Ethan!
