Prepare yourself for a crazy amount of photos…
Quick notes about the delivery:
We arrived at the hospital at 7:15am the morning of July 26th. I began the process of getting hooked up to machines and IV’s and filling out paperwork and of course I got to put on the oh-so-fetching hospital gown. The gowns are a new style and absolutely horrible. Pretty sure a man designed them. Seriously. At this point my contractions were coming on their own about every 7 minutes.
At 8:40 I started the pitocin drip and antibiotics (I’m rh negative), 10:15 I received my epidural, and my water broke at 11:10 (dilated to a 3). By 1:10 was dilated to a 6 and just a little over an hour later (2:25pm) I was fully dilated and ready to push. Once my doctor was in the room and everything was all in place, it only took about 3 major pushes and our sweet little Justin Mathews Sabin was born at 2:41pm, 8 lbs 4 oz, 19 1/4 inches. This was definitely my easiest and quickest delivery to this point. I brought a bunch of magazines to read, but really, I didn’t do much besides eat the yummy ice and talk with Alan. I may have rested a bit in there as well…but really, the time went by pretty quickly. Woo hoo!
Check out the placement of my hands--that was one big belly!!
Yummmm, I always look forward to the ice:)
Super strong contractions just a few minutes apart
I asked Alan to take a picture of me sleeping…
And then I started to smile because I felt silly…since I wasn’t really sleeping
And then it turned into a laugh
And then I pretended really, really well:)
Justin lets his feelings be known!
His little feet aren’t so little…he’s going to be a tall boy!
Oh how quickly we fell in love with our little guy!
The next afternoon Ashley, David and Ethan got to meet their new brother…The Sabin Six!
My wonderful parents took care of our kiddos while we were in the hospital--I don’t know what I would do without them!
Aunt Christy came by for a visit
As well as Uncle Scott and Aunt Sarah
Heading home from the hospital…
We adore our little Justin and are so grateful he’s in our family. He’s smiling the biggest smiles now and has started cooing and “talking”. He melts my heart:) If he would just sleep 10 straight hours at night, that would be awesome. HA!! I’ll take the one 5 hour stretch I’m getting at this point and be happy for it!
