A beginning

Okay, let the nesting (or room decorating) begin! I forged ahead and cleaned out the baby’s room this morning of all things that do not belong. I hung the curtain rod, the curtains, and put every decorating item (as well as furniture item) I have thus far into one spot so you could see it. I do have a crib, but it’s still in the boys room…time to get big boy beds!! The curtains are actually shower curtains from Valentine’s Day and are obviously a little too short right now. So, I bought some solid fabric to add to the bottom…do you like the pink or greeny/blue? Or will that just look silly? I saw the look on someone else’s blog and it looked super cute…I wonder how I’ll do with it. The walls are a light, light pink, “Barely Pink” by Behr and my super crafty friend, Lynn, made me the cute heart shaped hair bow holder. She even has a tutorial on her blog if you want to check it out. I’m getting way excited for my baby girl to come join our family! I still have lots to do (like buy clothes for the little chica so she doesn’t go naked), but after today, I’m feeling a little more prepared!

UPDATE: Wow, the inspiration is a-flowin’! So I’m planning to do something with these 8 scrapbook papers, possibly something on canvas, or framed mirrors from Ikea, or…who knows what!

And I also want to make a rag wreath like the one underneath all this cute fabric, using said cute fabric and possibly some others, and perhaps not some that are pictured. We’ll see. The first wreath was super easy to make cuz it was made from a jelly roll. This time around, I’ll have to cut the fabric out all myself! Ick:) But well worth it if it looks cute!

And lastly, I’m going to make some of these:no sew flowers

I saw these on one of my favorite crafty inspiration blogs, MADE. I already have my wooden dowels all ready, I just need to cut the fabric and get gluing!

If my vote counts at all, I think you should leave the curtains the way they are. Such a girly looking room :)
So cute!!!!

Yes Amy, your vote totally counts...the only reason I would sew anything to the bottom is I keep seeing all these decorating blogs about the faux paus of too short curtains! But, heck, if it looks fine to everyone, I'll leave it!

Good job Katie. It is turning out so cute. I think I like the pink block for the bottom of the curtains. Such a cute idea to use a shower curtain.

1- go go go GO Katie GO! good job
2 - i vote the greenish blue - bring out another color - too much pink can be...well, too much ;)
3 - Lovely, now I have yet another cute blog to read! ha ha ha ha
4 - if you need a changing pad for that table, I'm your girl
5 - even if you just glued the papers onto canvases and left them as cute squares - nice big wall decor! so many possibilities there
6 - make sure you leave room on the wall for a fabulous image of your baby girl still in womb, taken by said sister in law... or maybe a storyboard of images... or a collage. Mmmmm K?

Done bossing you around now.

I agree with Amy, I think the curtains look fine the way they are. Any of the options would look good.
You are so crafty. The room is adorable.
Happy decorating!
