Where, oh where have I been?!

I've had some adoring fans ask me where in the world I've been and what I've been up to...okay, I'll be honest I've had TWO people ask. One: my wonderful Aunt Carol who told my mom that it was time for me to update the blog because she was tired of seeing the Christmas Can-Can and Two: Jill who said "Hello? Katie? Are you there? Its been almost a month since you last posted..." Thank you Aunt Carol and thank you Jill for checking in on me:)

I could give you a million excuses for why I haven't posted, but I'll just give you 7 for now:
  1. First and foremost, I'm pregnant. Yes, yes, you all know that, and yes half of you are all pregnant as well, but I've been using that excuse lots more this time around. (The next two excuses have to do with pregnancy as well;)
  2. Since pretty much day one of this pregnancy, I've been sleeping HORRIBLY! As in insomnia, hurting back, hours of awakeness, early rising...blah, blah, blah...I'm into the second trimester and not much has changed. ugh.
  3. My sciatic nerve has also been killing me since nearly day one! What?! I didn't have any problems last time around!! This time however, there are moments when the spasm of pain is killer! I no likey it! Last night was particularly bad :(
  4. Okay, on to other excuses...I tend to like posts with pictures best, but I always want to edit my pictures first and that takes time and effort...(refer to all other excuses as to why I'm not doing that)
  5. My boys are getting busier and busier...as well as no longer taking naps...AH! It's hard giving up those few hours of ME time! But, on the bright side, they go to bed at a normal hour these days and they wake up a little later as well. Sweet! The pictures below are from one of their last naps...I was so amazed that they hadn't moved positions in 2 1/2 hours that I had to take pictures! And yes, they are still in their cribs at almost 3 years old and yes, David has 4 monkeys in bed with him.

  6. I have so much to catch up on, it's overwhelming. I haven't posted one Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas picture, yet I have about a million sitting on my computer.
  7. Getting bored yet? I have just one last one for now...we're buying a house! As many of you know, buying a house can be a little stressful (more like a lot) as well as very time consuming. If all goes well, we will be closing on Feb 5th...YAY!! I'll give more details another time. For now I'll just say, we're not moving far and I'm beyond stoked about it!
Have a great Friday everyone. I'm heading to the doctor's then to Home Depot to get some painting supplies. I'm painting my craft dresser in anticipation for our move and I'll show pictures when it's finished. I hope it turns out as cute as I'm picturing it to be!

We live such similar lives =) Just don't tell me your boys are potty trained bc it is proving to be a difficult process for my two. I have had the same sleeping issues with this pregnancy too. What is up with that!!! At 26 weeks, its not much better. Good to see ya back on the blog. Good luck with the house stuff...so exciting!

I was wondering what happened to your blog postings also--but now I know. :)
I have such empathy for you and the sciatic pain. It can be brutal.
Pregnancy was never easy for me. But it is so worth it--as you already know. :)

I am so super excited for you and Alan to buy your home. Woo-Hoo!

Boo on the insomnia and sciatic issues. Been there done that. Not fun.

Yippee on pics of the boys and the new house. Stressful, yes but it's the good kind of stress. We moved when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant with child #2. It was kinda good because you just sit in a chair and point and boss everyone.

Oh Thank Goodness!
Not Thank Goondess that the boys have dropped a nap, you can't sleep (I had insomnia the entire pregnancy...you know how you are supposed to sleep so the little baby can grow...he still grew, but I didn't sleep a wink!), you have a ton of pictures to post but haven edited them, etc.
But Thank Goodness you are still here! I missed your blog!
Congratulations on the house and I am glad you are still cooking your little bean :).

NO PRESSURE =) You just leave a little note saying you've taken a blog hiatus and feel guilt free! People love to see your everyday shots SOOTC - they don't need to be perfection of photography, so don't stress that. Remember when it was all so simple?! LOL
I hope you are feeling better very very soon!

You should try Mag Relax for sleep. It's wonderful! And safe for pregnant mommies! It's a magnesium drink mix-in that helps your body relax naturally (muscles, etc), and it really worked for me. I have a TON left if you want it. Or you can buy it at Henry's.
Good to hear that all is well and congrats on the house hunting/buying! Are you going to be in the same ward?
