Self-imposed timeout

Ethan LOVES climbing our kitchen chairs and will climb one faster than I can say "We don't do that Ethan!". I know he must be thinking in that smart little head of his "Nice try Mom! No stopping me!"

A few days ago, my dad moved one of the chairs into the living room against the couch so that Ethan could climb onto it, but not onto the kitchen table. Well, for some reason, Ethan just SAT there...and sat...and sat! Miraculous I tell you!! He held on to the rungs behind him and after a while started getting fussy--as though I was the one making him just sit there. Silly boy.

These are all taken on the same day...the first picture in his red shirt he was so mad that he spit his cookie out so I had to take his clothes off. Obviously he wasn't too thrilled with me. But he gets happy...at least for a moment!

And then, just a bit later, he was driving me bonkers so I set him back in the chair to see if the same thing would happen and he stayed--in the same spot!!--for 25 minutes!! (Unheard of I tell you!) Here are just a few of his best pouty/funny faces...

This one was my absolute favorite!!

And just for fun, this shows you what I was doing while he sat in the chair. I kicked up my feet and relaxed as any princess wearing a pink crown should:)

that is so funny... especially since I got to see his ENERGY that day. WOWZA do you got your hands full. Good thing little David is more mellow =). Hopefully that chair thing is a good sign of things to come - cooperative time outs! ha ha

25 minutes!!! Amazing. I would love mine to sit for 5 minutes. Looks like you have a good thing going. =)

That is too funny!
Wouldn't you like to get inside their little heads and see what they're thinking? Priceless pictures!
